The Tobacco Cessation committee is a group of tobacco cessation treatment professionals from hospitals and public health organizations throughout Marion County who have come together in a non-competitive spirit to increase awareness of the benefits of quitting tobacco, promote cessation and quality tobacco cessation services for persons residing in Marion County.

• Support the use of nationally recognized best practices for nicotine dependence counseling and treatment among cessation service providers in Marion County.
• Actively seek to involve all organizations in the community that provide cessation services to become involved in committee activities so that we can mutually support high standards for nicotine dependence treatment.
• Provide a non-competitive and respectful forum in which to discuss issues regarding the delivery of high quality and effective cessation services in Marion County.
• Advocate for consistent reporting standards of individual program outcomes in support of best practices for nicotine dependence counseling and treatment.
